Why don't we start thinking like Annie says "for the Gurkhas and by the Gurkhas", starting now? Thank you Annie.

Thank you to everyone for their comments and feedbacks. Due to much interest among the Gurkha diaspora, the interviews with Annie and Peter were proposed over a year ago and only materialised this year due to various reasons, including Annie, Peter and our own volunteer team members' clashing commitments. This is new territory for us and depending on the reception of these video interviews and our own volunteers’ commitments, we will be contemplating on whether to do –and the feasibility of doing- more interviews in future with friends of Gurkhas and Gurkha leaders, or whether to stick with the older format of articles, photographs and news dissemination. We have always welcomed relevant and informative articles, photographs and news contributions from visitors to Gurkhas.com and friends of Gurkhas, and will continue to do so. We would hereby also like to urge more Gurkha volunteers –there are so many intellectual, committed Gurkhas with some free time within our communities, including our able younger generation- to take the initiative and highlight the positive work and contribution of Gurkhas and friends of Gurkhas. The four volunteers here at gurkhas.com can only stretch ourselves so much and we're sure that the whole community –and our Gurkha friends-would really appreciate your time and efforts! Dear David, we are confident that the community greatly values the dedicated support from Wendy and yourself and that in due time, people will begin to appreciate your efforts even more but as you said, it is upto the Gurkha organisations/leaders to choose their campaigning/championing partners. Having said so, the Gurkha Justice Campaign is a classic example of how the spokesperson/s are not always selected at the beginning but somehow become part of the process at the end! Maybe Gurkha organisations have read your comment and taken on board your thoughts. Kind Regards, Santosh-Admin

Thank you Annie for for your choice of words and wisdom.some of the words you used in this interview rang the bell. In Gopal's website in the past Ihad used the Nepali word EKTA= Unity and one Voice. KEEP P YOUR NOBLE WORK. I also do understand what David said about the campaigning British couple and admire their commitment. As a former Line-boy since the advent og Bde of Gurkhas I lived with different tribes of nepal in Gurkhas Regiments. Gurkhas are the Bravest of the Brave but when it comes to Unity of purpose and One Voice from my observations their Line of Communications need to be sharpen like the Khukri our ancestors did. My family love affair with BRITS GOES BACK TO to my great grandfather who joined the English East India Company is Assam in 1850s. Wish you success. My latest poem 2days ago is "Gurkha Widow's Sorrow" with kind regards, Rajen Chhetri, Ek NEPALI, Woking,Surrey.

I dont know what is upsetting Mr Hughes. There are no doubts that there are many people like Annie who are loyal Gurkha friend and supporters. I believe the interview was done with Annie because she was "that very mystery woman" who communicated this cause to the right person. No body is saying that Annie is the only person. We have many friends and we appreciate what they have done for us but we dont bash them just because they were recognized for the right reason. I truly dont think Annie is into fame or publicity, this is her job her passion. May be you could be so kind to write an article on Wendy and we would be happy to get to know Wendy. Thank you.

Hi David. I was approached and asked to do this interview which of course I was happy to do. I certainly do not seek self glory from it, and never have. I felt it might help the Gurkhas and indeed the greater Nepalese community about which I care very much. I am a communicator by profession and by nature and seek to use this skill to help others and to further their cause if I am able. Perhaps these other interviews could be arranged. It was certainly NOT my intention to upset anyone.

Why is not Gurkha Mum / Ex-Cllr Wendy M.Harbon[disabled] and RBL Branch Committee member, who has and is fighting for Gurkha's current and veteran's as well as their Nepalese families. Being asked to support and speak out, for the Gurkha's, by Gurkha community leaders, when she has supported Gurkha's at the cost of her own health. When Wendy travels the UK, from Kent to Hampshire to the Midlands and North East, Scotland all from the North West, to help and has helped many Gurkha's and their families. She is travelling to Nepal for two to three months, to help Gurkha's in Nepal and in Indian too, also she does this out of her own pocket, she does not use a Gurkha's for her personal financial gain either. Wendy know's more about, how Gurkha's and their families being abused or their rights under British, Eurpoean and United Nation's Diversity, Equality and Disability Laws. It never was just about the rights to live in the UK, or about long service pension, it is great deal more. Gurkha's need to know who their friends truly are, and those using the Gurkha's for their own self interests. Gurkha God Father.

Annie is right, "for the Gurkhas and by the Gurkhas". Sadly enough we the Gurkhas done think like that for whatever reason.
