Gurkhas.com can report that at last, some headstart seems to have been made between Gurkha organisations and their leadership in taking a united stand on issues relevant to Gurkhas. No doubt, this has been feasible through vast amount of thoughtful negotiations and willingness for constructive discussions from all quarters.

We hope that in the coming days, key Gurkha veterans' organisation i.e. GAESO led by its founding chairperson (Padam Mama) will also consider joining the discussions due to their utmost influence on the vast majority of older Gurkha veterans whom they proudly represent.

We now await an update on the meeting's main discussion outcomes in the coming days from those directly involved in this unity meeting including the Nepalese Embassy where the meeting took place. Regrettably, gurkhas.com was not part of the meeting.

Here are pictures of the meeting, for the wider Gurkha family's information. We are thankful to Mr. Prakash Gurung, PR, BGWS for sharing these pictures with the wider Gurkha community.

I am so happy to hear that all the main gurkhas organisation has united. Its a big news but will they able to fight for their rights or they will follow the dirty politics they have seen in Nepal. "like father like son" since all the leader are of nepal originals, I hope they will not be mislead path this time and always fight for the gurkhas right. Hoping to hear all the good news from this Unity of big 4 gurkhas organisation.

We welcome this good initiative & positive step taken by the leaders of the 'Big 4 Gurkha Organisations [BGWS, BGAESO(UK),NESA & UBGEAN] currently in the UK representing all the Ex-Gurkha veterans & their families who served in the Brigade of the Gurkhas launching a unified campaign for the Gurkha Rights Movement with new vigour from 2012. We hope that this joint approach would help to fight against still ongoing pending major issues of the Equal and fair pension for the Gurkhas, backlogged immigration problem of the Gurkha Dependants of over 18 years old and unfair backdating/unaccounted financial contributions of those UK tax and National Insurance paid whilst servicing in the Bde of the Gurkhas as an integral part of the British Army which MUST be recognised from the official date of the enlistment/recruitment (regardless of the baseless hypothesis of movement of the BoG as a UK based concept of July 1997 as propounded by the MOD which has already been demolished in the case of the Gurkha Immigration Concession when finally this settlement right was given to ALL the Gurkhas who served in the British Army from 1947 - until now in announed by the former PM Gordon Brown MP in MAY 2009)and other relevant Gurkha issues that comes under the scope of the injustice & crime against human rights & racial descrimination done against the GURKHAS. Dr. Chandra Lakshamba deserves well done congratulation in this hard work for this hard work of emissary role for making success in bringing all the Gurkha Leaders representing the wider Ex-Gurkha Communities in the same platform for this common cause and goal. We should not forget the vital role played by the GUF UK (Gurkha United Forum) endeavouring to unite all the Gurkha warring faction in the past. So, a big congratulations once again to the Big 4 Gurkha Leaders who participated under the good faith for acting on behalf of the wider Gurkha Communities based all around the world in achieving the unfinished tasks of the Gurkha Movement based on the mutual respect, co-ordination and sharing the joint responsibilities on the equal footing believing this is a noble duty being a true Gurkha to fight for the Gurkhas. Let's wisdom and intelligence prevail in our representing leaders thus 'UNITY is Strength' can be prove and apply pragmatically to win this war of Gurkha Injustice, thus there shall not no more the 'Divide and Rule' policy can defeat to us. Jai Gurkhas!
