GURKHA VETERANS ARE MADE TO FEEL WELCOME IN COLCHESTER AS CENTRE FOR VETERANS DUE TO OPEN (Source: Chelmsfordweekly.co.uk 22.04.2012)
This is brilliant news and comes amid so much destructive coverage regarding settlement of Gurkha veterans in UK-mainly from Rushmoor- despite there being no concrete plan for their effective settlement and integration pre, during or post Gurkha Justice Campaign victory. As already proved by the research into Gurkha settlement and Integration Process in UK: Opportunities and Barriers, there are distinct reasons why Gurkha veterans gravitate towards Rushmoor. If adequate facilities -as in Rushmoor- are spread out elsewhere, the veterans' settlement areas in time, will spread out too.
