Late Lt. Col. Adrian Griffith loved Nepal and dedicated much of his spare time in guiding, overseeing development projects in different parts of Nepal. He had also struck a strong bond with Gurkhas and was highly regarded by those who had served with/alongside him. During the height of Maoist insurgency in Nepal, late Lt. Col. Griffith was even kidnapped and eventually released after 40 hours in captivity (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/nepal/1444822/Maoists-forced-kidnap-officer-into-eight-hour-route-march.html.)

Undoubtedly the sad loss of Lt. Col. Griffith will leave a deep void in the hearts of those who knew him. May his departed soul rest in eternal peace.

The Gurkhas.com team joins the wider Gurkha Nepalese community in mourning the sad loss of Late Lt. Col. Griffith and extends our heartfelt condolence to his bereaved family during this most difficult time.

We are thankful to Maj. Retd. Khusiman Gurung (who was in turn forwarded the details by Maj. Retd. Bruce McKay MBE) for forwarding this information so that all ex-Gurkha veterans may be notified of the sad news and enable all who wish to attend the funeral to start making necessary arrangements to do so.
