Hi folks,
This is a bit of a long shot. After leaving the RN i bought an EX Army Land Rover (despite me being ex Royal Navy) as i had always wanted a Defender and missed some aspects of service life. After getting my Defender i joined the Ex Military Land Rover Association and I take my land rover to many shows. I tend to stay in Anglia but its a national association and they attend shows all over the country inc displaying at the war and peace show. Members are from all work aspects not just ex-military but many civilians too.
My land rover enrtered service with the army in 1994 and was cast (released for sale) in 2010. I have received a merlin report for my vehicle through our association that my vehicle spent the first four years of its life with 2RGR, 3RGR and 1RGR. Then the rest of its time in storage / base run around at Longmoor. A fellow member told me that the mod merlin report 2RGR etc refer to 2nd battalion Royal Gurkha Rifles / Regiment? If this is true i was wondering if any members may have any photographs of any defender Land Rovers in service with the Gurkhas at this time. I realise this may be a long shot as the last thing the army need is soldiers taking phots when they are supposed to be working

but failing that if anyone could give me a rough idea what the regiments may have been up to around that time.
The mil reg is 35 KL 88 for only three months at the begining of 1994 it was with 2RGR then from 1994 until 1996 it was with 3RGR and then from 1996 until 1998 it was with 1RGR. (after 1998 storage)
I hope you dont mind me popping this question on your forum. My land rover may have ended with a quiet time but there is a certain kudos of having been in use with the Gurkhas. If anyone ever purchases an ex military land rover then please do join our association,if not then the forum is free and always has good advice on anything technical or mechanical to do with military land rovers.
With many thanks
Cam
