Do you know Any ex-Gurkha Veteran in need of Help? BGWS is Already Helping and Ready to Offer Advice and Support to Other Veterans in Need too.

A Humble request from the Gurkhas.com team: Many of our returning veterans may not have access to computers, nor these forums. We urge all Gurkha brothers and sisters who have access to these information to do your bit by informing those returning veterans in Need of Help by pointing them towards the right direction. Please be informed that alongside BGWS, the Gurkha Welfare Centre, The Forgotten British Gurkha Charity, The Farnborough Madat Group etc are also involved in trying to alleviate hardship for our venerable older veterans. Each of these support groups have their own websites where there is plenty of further relevant information on how to get support appropriate to one's needs and circumstances.

How would you rate this event?

Sainik is right. BGWS never provide service for free before. When do they start helping people for free? There are many organizations available that are ready to help all the time for free. I am not surprised by this notice. Please make it clear the service providing by BGWS for the ex-serviceman is free!

The two comments should have first established the facts.   BGWS membership is not compulsory and you should know by now we provide service to one and all (we only charge for filling forms and professional assistance that too at a very minimal rate – this can be verified by the editorial team).   Please also see the pictures on the Minister’s visit, where you should note all the old and bold are non members, but yet visit BGWS daily to relax, watch the Nepali TV. The service we have quoted we will provide is absolutely free! These gentlemen should be more open and only with evidence make such claims that we levy charge for advice we give.   The very tone of this email spells its true intention augmented by the fact that they have also not used their personal names.  The editor is requested to refrain from such blatant comments, which causes more harm than help the old and needy veterans.

।।।।।।।।।।।।।

That is really very good to hear help offers from BGWS.  We should not expect free services no problem if they take charges and give useful suggestions for anything will be nice. Thank you BGWS this notice is like ' a straw for a sinking man' i hope this could be real when I come to UK and seek your help in due course. I have noted your given address and and will check how real is your invitation for help is.  thanks//

Thank you BGWS but would you please list what help can you extend to a veteran arriving in the UK without any friends or relative to support him. Does he have to be a member of BGWS to qualify for such assistance!!

Dear Mr Thapa,
We suggest that you contact BGWS directly, either via e-mail or phone and ask them your question. Besides, here is what you can do in our website, Click Articles, Select Gurkha Related Articles, and scroll down the list until you find the one titled "Life in the UK". It has specific details in there including phone numbers that you could contact and get essential help while in Nepal or in the UK. Good Luck.

Now we trust there are still good people remain and good British guys are left in this world.  We wish if man like Mr Nigel would be in the chair of Priminister, certainly Ex-British Gurkhas could have found the justice.  Thank you Mr Nigel your tendency of loving word and sympathy to Gurkhas.  May god bless you forever such opinion and help to needy.
