Abhilasha was one of the recipients of late Dr. Harka Gurung Educational Prize Money established by Tamudhee-UK in 2009 in honour of the late academic and widely-acclaimed geographer from Nepal. His untimely and tragic demise was a colossal loss to the Nepali scholarly society that is felt to this day, most prominently in his field of study.

When Abhilasha received her much-deserved accolade at the recent Tamudhee UK Lhochhar Programme, her proud parents Dr. Anek Gurung and Dr. Gurans-Lawati Gurung (originally from Ghandruk Village, Kaski and Yasok, Pachthar respectively) were by her side. Below, we share some of Abhilasha's remarkable results for two simple reasons: firstly, to congratulate Abhilasha for such outstanding effort and secondly, in the hope that more of our younger generation will follow such worthy example.

(When you do, just make sure that you don't forget to share your own success story with us and the rest of the Gurkha/Nepali community!) . So come on kids, AIM HIGHER, YOU TOO CAN DO IT !

(ps. note where Abhilasha scored 300/300 for Chemistry; Abhilasha gave her GCSE Statistics a year earlier)

Dear bikkugrg ji,

thanks for raising your 'issue' as it allows us to clarify any misconceptions. We only post article contents through consent of relevant parties. In this case, we sought permission from Abhilasha's dear parents as they (and Abhilasha) are best placed to make such decisions, not you and I. We respected their decision and duly gave it as much space -and attention-as possible as Abhilasha's achievements are indeed deserving of such glory. It is easy to be critical, let us try to see goodness in others' actions too, and let us hope that other younger Gurkha children too -including yours and ours -can follow in her footsteps in the days to come...

Warm regards,
Gurkhas.com team

Seeing what your performance is reminds me of Gurans my classmate at the Beijing Medical University! Keep it up and all will be yours to perceive.
Hard work will always be rewarded. Congratulations!
