Finaly one of my friends has a visa
Just found out my friend finaly got a visa to come here after quite a few years of trying.
But I don’t know what sought of visa they have given him till he comes next month.
The telephone line from Nepal was very bad and it was hard to hear what he was saying.
All I can say its not before time we have been trying for about 18 years or more I just hope the fight ends here?

I was just wondering if they have the right to come to stay in England then why do they need a Visa? I thought that was for visitors only?

Hello Mobat!
Well since the Gurkha or his family members have the right to stay here in Uk, they have to apply for ILE (Indefinite leave to enter) from Nepal or ILR (indefinite leave to remain) which is different from visa. Once they get the ILE/ILR they can travel to and fro any time without a visa like any British citizens.
